Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Electric Estimator to join one of the top 3 MEP Contractors out of the Greater Jacksonville, Florida area. Our client provides major opportunity for growth as they prefer to promote from within as well as top end benefits and incentives

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive take-offs and material quantity surveys from project drawings and specifications.
  • Analyze project requirements, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for electrical projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and material costs to inform accurate estimates.
  • Participate in bid review meetings and provide expertise on cost factors and value engineering opportunities.
  • Support the procurement process by obtaining quotes and negotiating prices with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist in project budgeting and cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain documentation of estimates, assumptions, and revisions for future reference and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction or mechanical contracting industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Accubid, Trimble, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with local market conditions and suppliers in the Jacksonville, Florida area is a plus.
  • Certification or licensure in estimating or electrical contracting (preferred).
