Summary:

An Ocean Transportation Company is looking to hire an HR Employee Relations Specialist in Miami, FL. This is a full-time permanent position that comes with day 1 benefits.

Responsibilities:

Primary:

* Manage employee progressive disciplinary actions and ensure policy compliance.
* Review disciplinary activity; track metrics like turnover, complaints, and discipline.
* Investigate discrimination and harassment claims, ensuring Title VII EEOC compliance.
* Prepare separation notices and conduct exit/transfer interviews.
* Analyze productivity data; recommend actions for noncompliance.
* Maintain and update company systems; test and suggest system improvements.
* Assist with annual evaluations and file related documents.
* Monitor training compliance via the learning management system.
* Maintain annual code of ethics disclosure logs and prepare resolution reports.
* Revise and update policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Stay current with employment law changes.
* Support HR and management to ensure consistent policy application.
* Develop HR solutions through data analysis and recommendation.
* Complete special projects by setting objectives, schedules, and conducting research.

Secondary:

* Oversee introductory and transfer evaluations; file documents accordingly.
* Manage phishing test simulations and retraining for repeated offenders.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

* Minimum 2 years of current HR Generalist or related experience in a corporate environment.
* Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (local, state, federal).
* Proven ability to foster positive employee relations and partner with management on HR and business initiatives.
* Bachelor"s degree in HR Management, or currently pursuing one, or SHRM Certification (PHR, SPHR, or GPHR), or 2 years recent experience in workplace investigations.
* Proficient in MS Word and Outlook
* Basic proficiency using Microsoft Excel
* Advanced communication skills in English for various organizational levels and external communications.
* Intermediate proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish.
* Advanced business reading and writing skills.

Preferred:

* Proficiency with HRIS systems is a plus
* Experience dealing with workplace investigations in response to allegations of discrimination
* Prior experience using BI reporting
