Employee Relations Director

Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Employee Relations to join their team. The Director of Employee Relations will lead the development, implementation, and management of employee relations strategies and programs to promote a positive and productive work environment. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution expertise, and a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement employee relations strategies and programs to foster a positive workplace culture and enhance employee engagement.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management and HR team on employee relations matters, providing guidance and support on complex issues.
- Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disputes in a fair and timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Provide coaching and training to managers and supervisors on effective employee relations practices, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and others.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to employee relations, ensuring alignment with company values and goals.
- Monitor trends and identify areas for improvement in employee relations practices, recommending and implementing proactive solutions.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of employee relations activities, including investigations and outcomes. Lead and manage a team of employee relations professionals, providing direction, guidance, and support as needed.
- Stay updated on relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure best practices and compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in employee relations or HR management role, with demonstrated expertise in resolving complex employee relations issues.
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and others.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on fairness and equity.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience leading and developing a team of HR professionals. Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR) preferred.
