TITLE: Talent Development Manager

REPORTS TO: VP People and Compliance

Position Summary

The Talent Development Manager will partner with internal and external experts as well as department leaders to develop, execute, and manage strategic training plans with measurable results. Designs and delivers learning curriculum to create an exceptional learning experience for all associates. Facilitates a continuous learning culture and development of talent across the organization. Researches and implements innovated learning systems and techniques. Demonstrates teamwork through positive interaction and cooperation with fellow associates, members of management and other departments. Supports and promotes the Credit Union's Vision, Mission and Core Values.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Designs, develops, and delivers instructor led, self-paced, e-learning training and curriculum aligning with the Credit Unions strategic initiatives.
  • Initiates needs assessments with leaders and departments across the organization to provide coaching on instructional design and mode of delivery.
  • Develops measurable certification paths for relevant positions.
  • Partners with leaders to conduct refresher and scheduled training; including member focused solutions, member experience, and soft skills training.
  • Designs instructional tools and job aids to be utilized by departments for training and development.
  • Directs, creates, and delivers training plans during the external and internal onboarding process.
  • Schedules training during the onboarding process with other associates and leaders.
  • Administers, creates, and assigns curriculum in the Learning Management Systems and other training systems; including approving invoices.
  • Manages and tracks external training; including vendor management, evaluations, transcript additions, and invoices.
  • Coaches, mentors, and motivates associates to create enthusiasm in learning and development.
  • Creates instructional guides and presentations.
  • Researches and remains current on new development trends and other related information relevant to creating learning.
  • Researches, schedules, and participates in demos with new learning/training vendors and presents recommendations.
  • Plans, develops, and coordinates Professional Development Day activities and training.
  • Administers and updates the Learning and Development section of the Intranet and Sharepoint with learning tools and information for associates.
  • Forecasts and plans an annual training calendar aligning with upcoming rollouts, promotions and strategic initiatives.
  • Tracks and follows up on all completion deadlines for training with associates and managers.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with managers on talent development plans and career paths for associates.
  • Promotes and administers associate recognition and engagement.
  • Leads career path discussions with associates.
  • Manages training files and compliance to meet regulations.
  • Back up HR Generalist on New Associate onboarding.
  • Facilitates and leads meetings.
  • Attends meetings, webinars, and seminars as approved for development and training.
  • Collaborates to create a program to measure exceptional member service.
  • Supports and promotes organizational changes.
  • Coordinates and recommends associate activities and events.
  • Compiles and presents reports of results and recommendations of training initiatives to VP People and Culture.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
  • Participates in community activities and with the Chamber Training Consortium as a Service One Credit Union representative.
  • Performs such other duties as may be required from time to time for the overall management and operation of the credit union and the HR and Talent Development Department.
Educational/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
  • At least, 1 year of experience in developing and facilitating training.
  • 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience may be substituted for education requirement.
