Aston Carter is working with one of the top companies to work for in Kansas City, MO that is hiring for a Senior Accountant This is a long term contract opportunity slated to go 12 months but could potentially go longer. Job Description: Execute processes and tasks in support of month-end close and financial reporting, including reconciling the projects’ subledger to the General Ledger. Collaborate with other teams such as Systems, IT, Contract Analysts, Financial Reporting, and others to ensure a timely and accurate financial close. Support the preparation of reports, analysis, and presentation of cost accounting data for various levels of leadership to enable informed business decisions. Participate in special projects focusing on innovation and process improvement. Engage in user testing for system patches and upgrades. Perform weekly/monthly reconciliation of interface transmissions between the Projects Module and other accounting modules, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. Support external audit requests as assigned. Train project managers both formally and informally. Produce ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by management and Accounting leadership. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 6+ years of experience in accounting Engineering or Construction industry experience highly preferred 3+ years of public accounting experience preferred Large company/high volume experience Proficient in Excel Job Type: This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
