This Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in the Accounting Department supporting our milling business. This position will participate in the design and implementation of accounting processes and controls and be a trusted resource for the operation. This job is in Kansas City, MO. As a Bartlett Team Member, you'll enjoy competitive compensation anda long list of great benefits including: 401(k) plan with company match Profit sharing plan Health Insurance, Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability coverage paid 100% for employee Dental and Vision insurance available Flexible Spending Accounts Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial data Produce reliable and detailed financials, management reporting, metrics, and analysis to support operational decision making Monitors and balances systems to ensure completeness and accuracy Track plant expenses and allocations and monitor and communicate variances. Provide additional and ad hoc support to plant management, merchandisers, and company leadership Take ownership for account reconciliation process, maintain internal controls and ensure procedures and processes are followed Assist with A/P processes as needed Assist with internal and external audits Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Masters in Accountancy or MBA preferred 5 years experience Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with commodity processing/manufacturing preferred Mindset to continuously improve processes and procedures where possible Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient application of management and internal controls (SOX, COSO) Proficient in Microsoft Excel Physical Demands and Requirements This job is not physically strenuous. You must be able to sit at a desk and be able to utilize computers This job requires the ability to read and comprehend written and oral operational and safety instructions and related rules, policies and memos, and to communicate clearly with your co-workers and supervisors It is important to have vision and hearing skills that help you communicate with good interpersonal skills All candidates shall be subject to background checks.
