QSC is actively seeking a lead analytics engineer to enable the evolution and integration of our business data with strategic initiatives, overall enabling and accelerating the journey of QSC to be a data-centric company. This individual will be crucial in orchestrating the seamless integration of data expertise with business processes and strategies and ensuring our data assets, models, and products are designed in a robust, re-usable, and highly valuable way for a variety of use cases, and specifically able to support machine learning and AI.
Key responsibilities include: building re-usable and highly leverageable data models across business domains, help define best practices in data, advocating for and spearheading efforts around data quality/security/performance, and working cross functionally with technology and business partners to transform QSC's data maturity. Your role will require a balance of technical data expertise, people leadership and long-term strategic planning. In doing so, you'll unlock value from data that can help delight our customers, impact our business, and create a better world of work.
Base Pay Range 90k - 119k
We will be accepting applications until a final candidate is identified.
The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. In addition to the base salary range, QSC offers a comprehensive package including but not limited to health benefits, 401K or Roth retirement plans, generous time off and profit sharing.

ResponsibilitiesData pipeline and analytics development
- Develop and deploy well designed and reusable data models across different business domains to support data product development, tailored to the needs of each business domain.
- Implement data quality, observability, and maintenance best practices (including CI/CD)
- Maintain documentation for our data assets, leveraging current modern tooling
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver solutions to meet them
- Collaborate with our analytics and technology teams to ensure the delivery of regular reports and analyses to stakeholders to aid strategic decision-making.
- Aid in the gathering and processing of data where necessary, including web scraping and processing of text datasets for NLP applications
Data best practices and governance
- Collaborate across the business and IT (including enterprise architecture) to develop policies and procedures for data handling and processing to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Promote data literacy across the organization through training and advocacy.
- Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices in data management and analytics.
Strategic business and technology collaboration activities:
- Collaborate closely across different functions at the senior leadership (LT/ET) level to identify opportunities to leverage data to drive business solutions.
- Collaborate closely with IT to continuously evolve our data capabilities, including pushing the envelope of thinking from an architectural, tooling, and processes standpoint to drive superior business results.
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (incl. engineering, computer science, mathematics, or others)
- Graduate degree in a quantitative field preferred (incl. engineering, computer science, mathematics, or others)
- At least 5 years experience with data engineering and/or analytics engineering
- At least 3 years experience with cloud-based big data technologies, including ELT/ETL and storage modalities (warehousing, data lakes)
- At least 3 years experience with analytics and BI, including reporting, dashboarding and analytical insights, and the accompanying tools
- Expert in SQL
- Deep expertise with data modeling best practices
- Deep expertise with transformation technologies (Pyspark, Holistics, dbt, or others) and best practices for data transformation
- Expertise in commonly used programming languages in data engineering/analytics engineering, including Python, PySpark, Scala, or others (not all listed are required)\
- Experience with Azure technologies (Azure Data Factory, DataFlows, Synapse, PowerBI) strongly preferre
- Strong skills in communication, presentation, and overall cross functional collaboration
