Smith Life CommunitiesOUR NURSING STAFFING SPECIALIST POSITIONThe primary purpose of the Nursing Staffing Specialist is to assist with staffing support for the Nursing Department by updating daily staffing schedule according to unit needs assuring appropriate staffing for the delivery of excellent patient care.NOTE:This is NOT a recruiting position or patient scheduler position. It is working in the Nursing Office to keep our units staffed with nurses and nursing assistants.LOCATIONThis position is based at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, our skilled nursing residence, located at 6121 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland.SHIFTS & STATUSThis is a FULL-TIME position on the DAYshift, 7AM to 3PM, Monday thru Friday.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESAccurately enter and maintain schedule and attendance records in the computer.Receive call-outs and enter data into the scheduling software system.Schedule staff to fill vacant positions in the daily schedules, vacations, holidays and/or leaves of absence.Distribute paychecks to nursing units and evening and night shift supervisors.Assist with quality assurance related to staffing.Coordinate orientation schedule of new hires with Human Resources.EDUCATION & TRAININGPreference will be made to candidates with experience in a staffing office in a long-term care facilityMust possess a high school diploma or equivalentAbility to work independentlyStrong ability to multi-taskExcellent attention to detailExcellent phone presenceExperience working in a nursing home or other healthcare environment highly preferredExcellent customer serviceStrong excel skillsABOUT CHARLES E.
