Job Summary The Accountant I is responsible for cash reconciliation of various bank accounts including the bank accounts for newly acquired companies. Daily tasks will include cash reconciliation of bank accounts to posted payments in billing systems for all customer payment types, reconciliation of disbursement bank accounts, and resolution of issues and support for field contacts. This role is also a member of the team that handles the month end billing close for the Ambius division. Key Performance Indicators Accurate and timely cash reporting and completion of cash reconciliations No significant out-of-period adjustments Timely resolution of reconciling differences. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Apply below after reading through all the details and supporting information regarding this job opportunity. The Staff Accountant, Cash will perform the following responsibilities: Prepare daily and monthly bank account reconciliations for various bank accounts including customer payments made via credit cards, ACH, check, and lockbox, and ensure bank activity is recorded timely and accurately. Identify, research, and resolve bank account reconciling items. Records NSF and bank and credit card fee expenses to record activity. Develop an action plan for investigations and solutions following the investigation for all cash differences. Review Chargebacks, customer disputes, NSFs, and use discretion as the decision-maker to determine what to pursue and what should be deemed a write-off Record daily and month-end journal entries and complete general ledger account reconciliations. Prepare detailed analysis of all bank account activity to summarize daily cash flow data. Learn and provide backup support for team members for coverage of cash and non-cash accounting activities. Complete month-end billing close for the Ambius division. Complete accounting tasks and special projects as required by management. Assist with Internal and External Audits to ensure compliance with internal controls. Support team initiatives as defined by the Manager. Perform all other duties as assigned CANDIDATE SUMMARY Required Experience 2-4 years of treasury, cash reconciliation and general accounting experience Experience with multi-unit organization Required Leadership Traits and Characteristics Capable of doing repetitive work and remaining focused on details. Strong knowledge and experience with Excel Strong experience with Cash accounts and Bank reconciliations Has experience as a general-level accountant Possess strong analytical skills Able to work independently. Possess strong attention to detail, complete work accurately and is highly organized. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Communicate effectively and professionally at all times. Work with both internal and external customers to provide or obtain information. Adhere to financial reporting deadlines.
