Job Summary

SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Director of School Nutrition Services, coordinate the Child Nutrition activities. This is a 10 Month* adjusted calendar, 7-hour position. *Does not follow a typical 10-month calendar*

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: may be assigned related duties
•Oversees and participates in the preparation and serving of food.
•Plans/Outlines daily workload for cafeteria workers and updates board for staff to follow.
•Oversees/Ensures compliance with grants, and programs as applicable. (ex FFVG,
RISE, ELOP)
•Makes appropriate food substitutions as needed, when shortages or outages occur.
•Places weekly orders for dairy, produce and warehouse items.
•Responsible for oversight of inventory including food, supplies and monies.
•Inspect the kitchen, cooking and mixing utensils, and employees for cleanliness, safety and sanitary purposes.
•Ensure that all equipment in the cafeteria is in safe, working condition by inspecting machines and performing minor adjustments. Notifies the appropriate authority when repairs are needed.
•Maintains all records on products and supplies, (i.e. Transport sheet, inventory, menu
production record, daily lunch count, and transport record for their site) to ensure
compliance with health and safety rules and regulations conforming to federal/state
guidelines.
•Requests substitutes from CN Office as needed.
•Participate in the training of assigned staff; assist staff in proper operating procedures and equipment operation.
•Oversees, directs and participates in cleaning of kitchen and related areas adhering to the sanitation procedures.
•Oversee the collection of monies received from daily sales.
•Serves students on off calendar dates for programs such as RISE and/or ELOP.
•Assists with catering activities

Requirements / Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Four years of increasingly responsible food service experience.
Minimum annual continuing education/training as required by Federal/State Regulations.
Ability to obtain and maintain a current Serve Safe Manager Certificate through a District provided trainer/proctor.
Lift Test: Lift 50 pounds and push/ pull 100 pounds.
