Description

The Project Manager partners with business and Technology resources to deliver new business and technology capabilities throughout the organization. Responsible for running small to large-size cross-functional programs and projects throughout all project phases of initiation, design, development, and deployment.

Contributes to the advancement of corporate technology and infrastructure by leading project teams to achieve milestones and objectives. Manages Technology-related projects such as development, mobile application development, web development, or infrastructure management. Experience with Waterfall, Agile/Scrum development, and DevOps methodologies. Oversees and coordinates all aspects of large complex project delivery including initiation, scoping, design, development, testing, training, and communication. May manage multiple projects simultaneously. Responsible for managing and directing all project resources including matrixed resources and external consulting resources. Helps build trust and effective relationships among all involved. Partners with the business and Technology leadership to establish mutual understanding of the desired project objectives, priorities, timelines, and resource requirements. Ensures that requirements and outcomes are fully understood. Ensures that project methodologies are followed and monitors the quality of the project work; identifying changes or revisions to be accomplished to meet the quality objectives. Responsible for planning and scheduling project goals, resources, key milestones, and deliverables. Conducts meetings with project teams and stakeholders regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines. Provides input into the preparation and development of resource budgets including staffing, hardware, software, training, travel, and expenses. Responsible for meeting budget goals and objectives. Participates in the analysis and design of business processes and systems. Proactively identifies and solves project issues. Escalates issues to senior management when necessary. Works with Sourcing on Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for external services as necessary. Assists in developing departmental practices, procedures, standards, methodologies, and guidelines.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a discipline requiring strong critical thinking and communication. Advanced professional degree preferred. Minimum of five to seven years of broad operations or IT work experience with a large organization required. This experience in a retail environment preferred. Minimum three years of project management experience required. Certification in project management preferred. Strong knowledge of computers, computer systems, software and network technology required. Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and project planning skills required. Strong critical thinking, logic, and problem-solving skills including the ability to rationalize complex, multi-faceted problems into smaller, manageable issues required.
