The Opportunity: Factorial is seeking an Assembly Technician to join its team in Woburn/Methuen, Massachusetts. The Battery Engineering Technician will support our Battery Engineering group by engaging in the fabrication, as well as maintaining the safe lab environment and equipment. In this role, you will: Support our Battery Engineering group and be responsible for battery fabrication (mixing & coating), material preparation, battery assembly, battery testing, and lab maintenance. Perform lithium-metal battery fabrication according to a strict standard of procedures to produce batteries of consistently excellent quality. Operate mass balances, slurry mixers, blade coaters, micrometers, die punches, and vacuum sealers to produce lithium-metal battery electrodes and pouch cells. Record all activities in a technical record book and work with researchers to further develop consistent procedures. Interface with computer systems to enter and retrieve data and analyze basic operational information. Maintain a safe work environment, obey all safety requirements and regulations, and adhere to quality systems. Coordinate and execute equipment maintenance per manufacturer’s guidelines. We are looking for people who: Have good dexterity sufficient to work with small components. Possess a high school diploma. Have a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working in a team setting. Preferably have experience working in a chemical laboratory setting or quality control environment. Have general knowledge of equipment calibration and procedures regarding chemical safety and are comfortable operating benchtop machinery and performing repetitive tasks. Have a basic understanding or interest in lab analytical equipment and test methods. Are technically proficient in Microsoft Office. Exhibit excellent people skills and a demonstrated ability to work in teams. Are capable of working in low moisture conditions ( Can meet OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines ( Are available to work from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.
