The
Business Diversity and Compliance Consultant
is r esponsible for assisting with the execution of the UCM Business Diversity strategy to achieve growth in support and investment in Minority and Woman owned businesses including a focus on the communities that UCM serves.
Assist in the design and manage the implementation of the Construction Compliance Initiative to establish and attain its minority and woman contracting and workforce goals.
Manage the processes to increase minority and woman owned firms participation on both construction and non-construction UCM projects and assist in facilitating employment opportunities for minority, women and local residents on both onsite construction and non-construction projects. Central to this position is assisting with compliance tasks designed to assure program integrity and collaborating with Supply Chain on sourcing and reporting on program metrics.
Essential Job Duties:
Identify, source and act as an advocate for minority and woman owned firms and suppliers on new construction, renovation, Plant projects and as well as non-construction engagements.
Actively sources new certified firms for addition to the established certified firm bidders list.
Consistent with the Community Hiring Initiative and project onsite workforce goals develops and maintains a project specific database containing information on construction workers interested in employment on specific projects.
Refers screened job seekers to project contractors consistent with Community Hiring Initiative.
Monitor and ensure adherence to established contracting and onsite workforce goals.
Assists in the evaluation of M/WBE utilization consistent with compliance guidelines, regulations, and reporting of Business Diversity metrics in collaboration with Supply Chain.
Assists in the implementation of the established contractor bid process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Business, Non Profit Administration, Economics or Accounting
5-8 years work related experience
Strong knowledge of business processes, compliance processes and statistical analysis
Ability to implement tactical strategies that support organizational and programmatic goals
Effective presentation skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Proficient computer skills with strong EXCEL skills
Proficient with B2GNOW and LCP Tracker
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient at multi-tasking
Ability to interface with people at all levels (internally and externally)
Excellent detail and follow though skills
