**SUMMARY**

The Vice President Sales will be accountable for leading the Retail Sales team to deliver top-line volume within the authorized trade budget in the Mass, Grocery and Club channels. The Vice President Sales will be a proven sales leader and a driving force behind the company’s success. This individual will serve as a key member of Ken’s Leadership Team, collaborating with other key members to determine the company’s direction and attain all goals including net sales and market share. This individual will architect Ken’s sales strategy, solidify and continue to cultivate the company’s unique internal sales culture, direct the internal sales team and oversee distributor relationships. He/she will lead the broker client team relationship for all channels of trade and will cultivate and ensure new item and customer objectives are achieved.

The Vice President - Sales will leverage leadership, vision, and effective resource allocation to drive sustained growth from strategic accounts. He/she will understand customer needs and develop long-term mutually beneficial relationships, becoming an extension of our customers’ strategic business plans. This position will have a firm understanding of the market and industry dynamics and will maintain relationships with other industry executives and business professionals directly related to targeted markets and channels.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES **include the following:

- Lead sales team in the successful attainment of company volume, profit and sales objectives
- Lead customer development through exceptional broker management
- Cultivate a customer-focused culture and exploit new market and category opportunities
- Develop, execute and evaluate sales promotion plans and merchandising ideas, while ensuring execution, review and tracking of all plans and programs
- Ensure appropriate adjustment of strategy and tactics to meet changing marketplace and competitive conditions
- Hire, train, develop and inspire top sales talent to be successful in an ever-changing marketplace
- Further enhance the sales organization’s standing as a fact-based, customer solutions-oriented trade partner
- Establish annual, quarterly and monthly sales targets to monitor results versus individual objectives, taking necessary actions to improve performance and provide innovative approaches to success
- Commitment to safety begins with management. Managers and frontline supervisors are accountable for creating and maintaining a culture of Safety and assuring a Commitment safe work environment.

***SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Headquarters-based Field Sales team consists of a President Retail Sales, Vice President Sales, Vice President Marketing, Brand Manager and Finance Manager.

The Ken’s direct field sales team consists of Eleven Regional Managers and Directors strategically based across the United States. This team leads a broker sales force of over 100 Acosta Sales and Marketing Associates. Additionally, the team has a Customer Development Manager, a Walmart Category Manager, and two Retail Sales Managers.

**Education and/or Experience**:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business Administration, Marketing or related field from four-year college or university.

- Proven customer-facing experience and a strong understanding of broker relationships and operating environment
- Significant broker management experience with a track record of delivering high-performance results through an external sales force.
- Success aligning a complex distributor network and experience working with fragmented regional distributors
- Hands-on knowledge of sales planning, implementation and experience elevating a company’s capabilities through joint business planning
- Excellent strategic and tactical skills with a proven ability to clearly interpret external forces and trends, and develop strategies and initiatives to take advantage of opportunities
- Aggressive, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality coupled with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Travel Requirements: Up to 50%
