**Job Summary**:
The Bilingual Associate 4-H Program Educator is an integral part of the UW-Madison Division of Extension and works alongside the people of Wisconsin to improve lives and communities. Extension serves the people and communities of Wisconsin by addressing local, statewide and national issues, improving lives through research-based education, fostering partnerships and action, and facilitating positive impacts.

This position is a part of the Division of Extension Positive Youth Development Institute, with a focus within the Wisconsin 4-H Extension Program. The Institute supports programs that contribute to the development of children, youth, and emerging adults who are healthy and productive, and who make a positive contribution to their communities. This Bilingual Associate 4-H Program Educator position will primarily serve Wood County, WI.

The Bilingual Associate 4-H Program Educator will assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating 4-H events and activities and building awareness of 4-H Outreach programs through marketing to new audiences and helping to provide positive youth development experience in order to retain new and previous participants in 4-H programs. The position will work closely with the Wood County 4-H Program Educator. In particular, the Associate Educator will implement the Tools to Thrive and Juntos programs in partnership with local school districts focused on providing support and programming for LatinX students and families. The Associate Educator will help deliver other programming through 4-H events, camps, community events (eg, fairs), and other settings. The individual in this position will also be essential in developing and sustaining community partnerships that support programming.

**Responsibilities**: Instructs and/or assists individuals and families engaged in various outreach programs. Delivers research-based educational programs to support and empower people where they live and work. Provides general support on public issues for the benefit of the community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
- 30% Teaches culturally relevant educational programs to adults and youth using learner-centered activities and lessons
- 20% Implements initiatives and events that serve the target audience
- 10% Procures and maintains course materials and supplies
- 10% Tracks program evaluation and incorporates feedback for improvement
- 10% Helps design marketing materials and promotions for programs
- 10% Teaches and/or supports educational programing (in Spanish and English) and adapts educational approaches in a manner that are culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate for the audiences' needs
- 5% Communicate plans, activities and achievements to 4H Program Educator, Area Extension Director, Program Managers, partners and relevant stakeholders
- 5% Helps build and sustain relationships with community partners

**Qualifications**:
Required:
Spanish speaking, writing and comprehension skills; knowledge and understanding of LatinX culture. Language skills will be evaluated to determine fluency during the interview process
- Ability to teach interactive lessons to youth and adults in group settings
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional work environments
- Ability to effectively work with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity
- Demonstrated commitment to Extension's values of equity and social justice to support opportunities and outcomes for youth, families, and communities
- Ability to carry educational equipment, up to 25 lbs

Preferred:

- Volunteer or work experience related to delivering educational programs for LatinX communities
- Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high quality work
- Ability to work cooperatively with other agencies and community-based organizations

**Work Type**:
Part Time: 50%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus
