**Job Details**:
The Office Coordinator provides on-site lead for daily operations of the medical office and same day chemotherapy. Liaison between physicians, patients and their family members. Handles operations and team management within the system policies.
**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the medical and nursing staff.
- Serves as a liaison between medical secretary, practitioners, and patients to coordinate successful delivery of care and service.
- Ensures front desk is operating appropriately (hands on front desk) during scheduled business hours and beyond as needed.
- Ensures phones are covered and transferred as appropriate for off-hours.
- Answers all employees and patients’ issues and reviews with practice manager; works as liaison to get them corrected.
- Assists in triage of messages and appointments making sure all are handled timely and appropriately.
- Understands and helps assure compliance for HIPAA.
- Oversees the daily schedule for the physicians and providers.
- Oversees the chemotherapy infusion schedule for nursing and reviews with nursing and/or practice manager.
- Handles referrals to and from the practice, insurance discrepancies, and provides financial assistance by supplying charity care to patients in financial need.
- Performs other duties as assigned and assists with other departmental needs.
**Qualifications/Requirements**:
**Experience**:1 to 2 years’ Medical Office experience required.3 years’ experience in a medical secretary role and coordination of a medical office preferred. Front desk management and/or customer service experience preferred.
**Education**:Associate degree required. Bachelors’ degree preferred.
**Licenses / Certifications**:N/A
**Other**:Strong interpersonal skills necessary to function as liaison between physicians, patients and their family required. Knowledgeable of physician office policies, procedures, medical insurances, and equipment preferred.
