- The Department of Marine Resources is seeking to fill an Accounting Associate II vacancy that supports the financial operations of the Department of Marine Resources. _

**ROLE OF THE POSITION**: This position is the department’s primary position for financial coding of documents. The position is responsible for ensuring all financial backup is included and proper sign offs completed. When staff have a financial question, this position is the first contact with staff and follows up with questions or approvals. This position codes from over 100 accounts with restrictions from the funding source, and the position serves as a fiscal control notifying the Business Operations Manager when policy or state rules are not followed. This position also purchases supplies, reviews and approves procurement cards of other staff for appropriate backup and sign offs. This position works under supervision providing guidance on state rules for financial controls on financial documents. This position recommends if items should move forward in the financial process or if they need more information, approvals, etc. The position works to ensure the department is using best practices in purchasing to ensure resources are being utilized most effectively and in accordance with state rules.
