**THE POSITION**:

**DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:
To ensure that permit programs align with the goals and objectives of the Department, your role will involve organizing, directing, planning, and coordinating the strategic efforts of all permit programs. This will include addressing customer needs and expectations, as well as implementing sound management practices and principles.

Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting field views of permitted work to ensure compliance with the permit and Department regulations. This will involve inspecting various phases of construction work, checking grades, elevations, and stake-outs, and verifying the proper placement of materials such as concrete, asphalt, and drainage structures. You will also be responsible for inspecting work zone traffic control, backfill material, compaction, highway restoration, and ensuring public safety.

Duties will also include, collaborating with Department personnel, federal, state, and local entities, lawmakers, and the public to oversee project management efficiently.

**Work Schedule and Additional Information**:

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- ** Telework**:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part time on an ad-hoc basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia.
- ** Salary**:_ _**In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:

- One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); **or**:

- Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); **or**:

- Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; **or**:

- Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; **or**:

- One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; **or**:

- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

**Special Requirement**:

- This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.
