MCNY enrolls approximately 1,000 students annually into its accelerated degree programs with convenient onsite and remote schedules for added flexibility.
**Summary**:
Metropolitan College of New York seeks an active manager for our two campus facilities located in the Financial District and the Bronx. The position will be based in Manhattan with regular responsibilities at the Bronx campus to maintain an optimal educational environment for our students. The incumbent will lead by example as they direct projects, manage day to day requests, and plan for the future needs of MCNY.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Oversee and participate in facility maintenance of Metropolitan College of New York campuses (currently Manhattan and Bronx) through a 5-day a week in-person role with regular visits to the Bronx campus.
- Identify, track, report and resolve day-to-day maintenance issues in a timely manner with mínimal direction.
- Assist in oversight of security contractor providing first call assistance to Security staff for facility needs that occur during evenings and weekends (College campus is open on Saturdays).
- Recommend and manage external vendor relationships (e.g., HVAC, janitorial services, pest control, plumbing, fire extinguishers, signage).
- Manage campus mail services through the delivery processing of all incoming and outgoing mail and parcels.
- Review and maintain physical security measures to protect campus assets.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute logistics for campus event setups. A small number of events would necessitate the physical presence of the Facility Manager in support of early evening events and/or Saturday events.
- Manage 1.5 FTE in support of facility operations at the Manhattan and Bronx campuses.
- Manage ordering of maintenance supplies to meet campus needs while staying within budget.
- Assist the VP for Technology and Operations in the formulation of the operating budget.
- Special projects as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- 3-5 years of facilities experience with prior experience in educational environments desired.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Creative and critical thinker.
- Ability to read construction documents with a solid understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds regularly
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Conversational Spanish a plus.
