**The Role**:
Generate:Biomedicines is looking for a **Manager Procurement Operations** to join our growing Strategic Procurement team We are a rapidly growing company and are looking for an individual who enjoys multitasking as well as working independently and will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The Manager Procurement Operations will participate in the optimization of Coupa, the Company's Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platform, and the design of the Procurement policies, processes and reporting capabilities underlying the system. The Manager Procurement Operations will be responsible for managing the Procurement processes and reporting, including supplier on-boarding, supplier management, purchasing goods and services and managing the requisition and purchase order processes. This position can be a hybrid role with a weekly on-site presence in Somerville, MA.

This is a newly formed role and an exciting opportunity to join a growing Strategic Procurement team and help to steer the core processes that deliver to our company's research and business goals and to implement efficient and effective business processes. You will work closely with members of the Strategic Procurement team to innovate and optimize procurement operations strategies, this role is critical in fostering robust relationships with colleagues, suppliers to work as a team towards achieving operational excellence in a dynamic business environment.

**Here's how you will contribute**:

- Manage Procurement Operations to ensure efficient supplier management and purchasing processes are performed in a timely manner while adhering to internal controls.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to stakeholders across the company, with all procurement operations related activities.
- Oversee the procurement process from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other areas of the Finance team to address and resolve Procure to Pay (P2P) issues and system infrastructure. Provide excellent customer service and transactional support to internal stakeholders, work closely with external partners address operational issues, provide policy and compliance related guidance, and respond to inquiries.
- Develop materials and train internal stakeholders and new hires on the Coupa platform to ensure compliance and efficiency in Generate processes.
- Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure favorable terms, quality products/services, and timely deliveries. This includes negotiating contracts, resolving issues, and evaluating supplier performance.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of procurement activities and identify areas for improvement.
- Establish and track metrics to measure and understand the team's efficiencies, buying timeliness, and process throughput. Make recommendations for areas of improvement highlighted by the metrics.
- Identify key areas of procurement activities that fall under Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance requirements, such as financial reporting, internal controls, and segregation of duties.
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes, optimize supplier relationships, and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Develop effective processes and policies to strengthen internal controls, enhance financial reporting integrity, and ensure compliance with regulatory mandates.
- Review accounts, departments, and programs that have been coded to purchase requisitions and work with the AP, Finance and Accounting teams to resolve discrepancies.
