As a Desktop Support Technician, you will:

- Assist the team with responding to a wide variety of technical issues, ranging from the routine to complex and challenging
- Assist with the maintenance of the corporate hardware inventory
- Assist with other user support related duties as assigned

Please note that this position will be based at our headquarters in Calverton, MD, though on-site support of our users in our Rockville, MD office may also be required.

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

- AA/AS degree in IS, IT, or related field from an institution considered accredited by the U.S. DOE, with a 2.9+ GPA
- 2 years of professional Windows desktop administration experience _(BA/BS degree in IS, IT, or related field from an institution deemed accredited by the U.S. DOE with a 2.9+ GPA is considered equivalent to the 2 years of related professional experience.)_
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft System Center or another configuration management tool preferred
- Basic understanding of programming logic (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to relay technical information to users in layman terms
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work within a team
- Strong presentation skills preferred
- Ability to use a personal vehicle for local travel
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security designation
