Housekeeping Supervisor- Holiday Inn

**Position Summary**

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for organizing Housekeeping employee’s shifts, assigning tasks to the Housekeeping staff and inspecting their work in hotel rooms and public areas. They must have the ability to take corrective actions when necessary to help improve performance levels across the board for every staff member engaged in housekeeping activities. They will actively develop and promote superior services skills in working with clients, guests and co-workers.

**Position Type and Expected Hours of Work**

This is a full-time benefit eligible position. This position must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays based on business needs.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Oversee housekeeping staff on a daily basis.
- Inspect rooms and public areas for accuracy and completion based on Hyatt's brand standards.
- Schedule shifts and arrange for replacement in cases of absence.
- Must be able to perform essential housekeeping functions while meeting brand time standards.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with dress code and uniform requirements.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Be attentive, courteous and efficient in the dealings with guests, managers and all other employees.
- Always comply with brand standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
- Exhibits helpful and willing attitude to serve guest requests.
- Communicate with other hotel staff to accommodate special guest requests.
- Develop and promote a team player attitude for the good of the hotel.
- Perform any other duties as requested by management.

**Work Environment**

This position will be located at a hotel and primarily work in guest rooms, hotel facilities and public spaces.

**Physical Requirements**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee with or without accommodation to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 100lbs.
- Must be capable of bending over, stooping and working on the knees in order to perform such functions as scrubbing commodes, tubs, cleaning tiles and putting away items.

**Travel**

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
- Work experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of hotel, housekeeping and hotel laundry operations required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Friendly, cooperative manner and patience in dealing with customers and staff.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in English with coworkers, employees, owners, and management, both written and verbally.
