Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engaging activities and events for our senior residents in a nursing home setting. Your role will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life and overall well-being of our residents.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities and programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our senior residents
- Plan and organize events such as parties, outings, games, crafts, and educational programs
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of activities
- Assess residents' interests and preferences to tailor activities to their individual needs
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for residents who require support
- Create a warm and welcoming environment that promotes socialization and engagement
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity outcomes
- Collaborate with caregivers and healthcare professionals to support residents with dementia or memory care needs
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in senior care or a related field is preferred
- Strong knowledge of event planning and coordination
- Understanding of the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of seniors
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with seniors
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently
- Familiarity with SNF regulations and standards
