An organization within Northrop Grumman Space Systems' Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit (BU) seeks a Business Unit Operations Manager 3. This position will report to the MEP BU Vice President (VP) serving as a key member of the BU's leadership team. **It is preferred for this position to be based in Redondo Beach, CA, but may be performed remotely with ability to travel if needed.**

Characteristics of an effective Business Unit Operations Manager include:

- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills - especially in geographically disperse and virtual environments
- Organizational and planning skills to concurrently manage a variety of tasks and shift focus easily from macro-level to micro-level topics
- Expertise in prioritizing tasks, making timely decisions, and following through on commitments with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to clearly communicate at all levels of the organization with messages appropriately tailored based on the audience
- Ability to drive clarity and accountability in BU operational rhythm tasks while also establishing positive relationships with the team
- Solid understanding of program execution drivers and roles of supporting business functions
- Skills to support strategic planning and business execution
- Willingness to tactfully share opposing points of view, speak honestly, hold confidences, and provide feedback to MEP BU VP
- Ability to analyze situations from several points of view and be persuasive with data-driven details
- Ability to work in a self-directed and independent fashion - a proactive attitude to identify what needs to be done rather than waiting to be told what to do

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Support the MEP BU VP in providing BU operational rhythm tasks leadership to all levels of the organization
- Improve operational efficiency of systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s mission across all areas of the MEP BU organization
- Lead regular meetings with the team to discuss issues, concerns and resolution
- Drive cadences across the BU for key deliverables including weekly status reports and employee communications
- Manage and set priorities for the day-to-day and strategic operations of the OU Program (Operations) Managers, including staffing, engagement, budgeting, and planning
- Closely coordinate with Mission Assurance, Global Supply Chain, Business Management, Business Development, Security, Information Technology, Legal, and Facilities to ensure efficient support of BU operations
- Lead MEP BU staffing demand planning in collaboration with OU Directors and all functional organizations; prepare for and present at Division-level staffing meetings
- Lead the BU's capital process to ensure needs are properly identified, prioritized, and projects are effectively managed to closure. Work closely with the MEP BU VP and the OU Directors, as well as the PGSD Capital Operations Manager, to plan and manage the MEP BU Capital budget
- Architect and ensure the MEP BU SharePoint pages and other shared resources are maintained
- Collaborate with peer Operations Managers to affect positive change
- Coordinate BU off-sites with BU leadership
- Work in compliance with company policies and procedures

**Basic Qualifications**:

- 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD
