Assistant Chef Manager

Chef will be responsible for oversight of the day to day operations of the kitchen and dining services, working along side the Dining Director. He/She will ensure that all services and programs are in compliance with federal, state and/or local regulations, laws and statutes including sanitation/cleanliness. Provides residents and staff with high quality, nutritious meals and responsive service and meets their needs while meeting regulatory requirements. Implements systems and controls to achieve financial performance as set forth by the owners/operators/ Executive Director inside of budgeted parameters and is aware of and addresses any changes in the financial climate that may affect the budget. Purchases approved products following company standards. Provides a professional and positive image at all times through appearance, dress and attitude. Coordinates events for community to include planning and production of events. Ensures proper staffing levels for department. Assists in hiring and employee discipline decisions. Provides training and in-servicing associated with current regulations/requirements. Responsible for the kitchen and dining service department. Assists in engineering all menus and items to ensure quality and proper margins. Must be able to take direction and possess a team player attitude and strive to motivate kitchen and dining staff. Able to work in a fast paced environment with flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and must work well under pressure.
Education/Experience:
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to routinely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; or reach with hands and arms. Ability to receive audible directions. Ability to speak, read and understand the English language.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
