Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for an Associate Director, Discovery, Product Development & Supply (DPDS), Strategic Operations located in Spring House, PA; La Jolla, CA or Beerse, BE.

DPDS is the molecular invention, development and delivery engine for Janssen R&D, working seamlessly with the disease area experts in each Therapeutic Area and with other functions (Global Development, Data Sciences, Janssen Supply Chain, Commercial) from target selection to end of product lifecycle. The Associate Director will partner with the Global Head of DPDS Strategic Operations and the DPDS Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to define, advance, evolve and improve all aspects of DPDS strategy and operations. This requires proactively driving excellence within DPDS by transforming complex data into business insight, translating strategic direction into operational implementation, improving partnerships across DPDS Functions and across the broader R&D and Janssen organizations, and driving execution through collaboration. This role will require a high degree of proactiveness and diligence and will offer the opportunity for senior leadership exposure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the development and implementation of a coordinated DPDS strategic framework, defining the specific goals and objectives, operational plans, and pivotal initiatives that will improve the capabilities and pipeline needed to support the business.
- Lead the execution of key initiatives to deliver DPDS goals and objectives, in partnership with the DPDS SLT, HR, Finance, Communications, and others.
- Develop a deep understanding of the DPDS strategy and portfolio in order to creatively make connections and develop new insights.
- Seek opportunities for cross-functional collaborations across DPDS functions and across the broader Janssen organization.
- Build trusting and collaborative relationships with key partners across DPDS and the broader J&J community, partnering to ensure initiatives are planned, implemented, and delivered on budget and on time.
- Ensure strategy and plans are appropriately connected within DPDS globally and in alignment with broader R&D and Janssen strategy, ensuring top to bottom, end to end seamless alignment, understanding, and co-operation, with all views represented.
- Articulate the impact of DPDS within the organization and with key partners across Janssen and externally, to drive long term sustainable commitment to innovation and pipeline delivery.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Master’s degree in Life Sciences or a relevant scientific field with 2+ years of progressive business experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech R&D environment is required; advanced degree (e.g., PhD or equivalent) is preferred.

**Experience and Skills**:

- Experience supporting major change initiatives in pharmaceutical/biotech R&D organizations in a strategic role is required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with experience in the analysis of complex data, including financial and operational data and metrics is required.
- Ability to interpret and translate data into action plans and strategic decisions is required.
- Demonstrated success at developing highly collaborative and effective relationships in complex, highly matrixed organizations, by thought partnering, shaping and influencing the conversation, and taking ownership of outcomes is required.
- Ability to present and communicate complex integrated strategies to all partners, tailoring the message to the audience is required.
- Prioritizes and delivers quality, works with day-to-day autonomy with mínimal direction, and demonstrates the capacity to expand into new areas of expertise and learn new skills to meet changing needs is required.
- Experience in assessing technology, market environment, and R&D process requirements to successfully drive efficiency, strategy optimization, and process improvements is required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $135,000 to $232,300.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
