We are looking for an experienced **Summer Camp Counselor (K-5th grade).**

**BCC Summer Camp ("Camp Innovation") starting in June**

**Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm.**

- **QUALIFICATIONS**_
- _GOOD TO HAVE_ experience as a child care or school age teacher.
- _An associate's degree is a plus_
- **Certification in "Delaware First" (DEEDS) intern or higher.**
- **Please note that the Delaware First DEEDS Intern Certificate is required. **_
- Age Requirement: Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must meet Delaware qualifications/requirements as established by the Office of Childcare Licensing - State of Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families.
- Must obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, and Administration of Medication within three (3) months of starting date of employment with BCC/BLC and maintain current certifications in each, throughout employment.
- Pay is based on experience._

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment for school-age children.
- Utilize experience working with children to engage students in educational and recreational activities.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy and math skills.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative learning environment.
- Utilize childcare experience to provide a safe and nurturing space for children in the program.
- Incorporate knowledge of childhood development to support the growth and well-being of each student.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with special education requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the school's educational goals.
- Utilize CPR certification to ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the program.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude while promoting a love for learning in school-age children.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
