- **About this Role**:
The Capitated Rates Development Division is responsible for the development of managed care capitation rates for more than 10 million Medi-Cal beneficiaries in all of California’s 58 counties. Under the general direction of the Chief of the Financial Management Unit A, the Research Data Specialist I performs research and analyses in support of major projects or activities related to both the Medi-Cal Managed Care program and the Medi-Cal Local Assistance Estimate, and also projects the fiscal impact of implementing new managed care payment rates. The incumbent independently develops and utilizes research methodology and techniques in areas where precedents are lacking or a sparse body of knowledge or experience exists. Duties include performing and reviewing analysis to support and assist actuaries setting managed care rates, as well as ad-hoc budgetary calculations.
