OVERVIEW:
Magnolia Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and passionate leader for the role of Assistant Director, Community Schools. This position will work closely with the Director of Community Schools to advance the community school model and develop strategies to sustain the community school initiative within the framework of the California Community School Partnership Program. The Assistant Director will provide support to community school coordinators and community school liaisons, ensuring effective implementation and progress toward program goals and student outcomes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Director of Community Schools in developing and implementing strategies to advance the community school model within Magnolia Public Schools.
- Co-create the development of plans and initiatives to sustain the community school work, including grant writing, fundraising, and partnership development.
- Lead and shape a specific functions and workstream, drives strategies to meet specific goals and objectives aligned with sustainability.
- Collaborate and coach community school coordinators to assess needs and identify areas for improvement in program implementation.
- Provide training, resources, and support to community school coordinators to enhance their capacity in implementing the California Community School Partnership Program (CCSPP).
- Coordinate with relevant educational partners, including school administrators, teachers, parents, community organizations, and government agencies, to foster collaboration and support for the community school model.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community school programs and initiatives, collecting data and feedback to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay informed about promising practices, research, and trends in community schools and education policy to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.
- Have fundamental understanding of grant management specifically with budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability for resources allocated to community school programs.
- Represent Magnolia Public Schools at meetings, conferences, and events related to community schools and education, advocating for the needs and interests of the organization.
- Source opportunities for program funding and sustainability.
- Implement data driven practices to engage educational partners across the MPS network
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Schools to support the overall success of the CCSPP program.

QUALIFICATION:

- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public administration, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Experience working in community schools, education reform, or community development.
- Knowledge of the California Community School Partnership Program or similar initiatives.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Minimum of three years experience in a supervisory/management-level position; operating one or more programs in a non-profit, education, or school environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
- Experience in grant writing, fundraising, and partnership development.
- Ability to analyze data, assess program effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and community development.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Multi-lingual experience, especially with Spanish (preferred)
