Fedex Ground Lead Driver

**We are now hiring for a full time FedEx Lead Driver / Assistant Manager in the Richmond, VA area **In addition to completing a daily route, the Lead Driver will lead our team of Delivery Drivers at the FedEx Ground terminal, champion safety and training, manage overflow, and serve as a contingency driver in the event of call-outs or absences.

**Previous Delivery Driver experience is required, and FedEx/UPS/Amazon experience (with at least one peak season) is strongly preferred.**

**Compensation & Benefits**:

- **$170-185 per day, depending on experience**:

- **1 week of PTO after 1 year of employment**

**Schedule**:

- Monday through Friday and Saturday through Wednesday, **rotating weekly **between main and assistant ops managers for weekend coverage

**Day to Day Operations**:

- Work with main Operations Manager (BC) to ensure all daily P&D routes are staffed, trucks are operational, and packages are being delivered timely and safely
- Complete route (typically 4 of 5 days weekly) and help to manage overflow
- Coordinate maintenance and vehicle repair with mechanic, occasionally shuttling trucks to and from the terminal
- Serve as a swing driver during absences
- Facilitate the training and onboarding of all new drivers
- Serve as dispatcher and main point of contact for drivers and FedEx on Operations Manager off days
- Ensure Driver compliance with daily duties regarding paperwork, Hours of Service compliance, Pre-Trip/Post-Trip inspection, and returning trucks to the terminal (occasionally requiring evening availability)
- Create a culture of safety and ensure each driver is up to date on all safety training

**Manager Requirements**:

- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to submit to a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug test and DOT physical (both paid for by FedEx)
- Physically willing, ready, and able to drive a P-1000 sized vehicle (Large Step Van) and safely deliver packages to both residential and commercial recipients
- **Previous FedEx experience strongly preferred**, experience with UPS, Amazon or other logistics providers a plus**

Pay: $20.99 - $25.27 per hour
