- and doctoral-level education in public health along with post-doctoral training. With over 300 faculty in six departments, the School conducts policy-changing public health research, with the mission of improving the health of populations, especially the underserved, locally and globally.
The Department of Global Health of the Boston University School of Public Health conducts research and evaluation, teaches, and engages in public health practice in low-and middle-income countries around the world. Department Faculty lead 6 Boston University School of Public Health certificates for the MPH degree, and participate in 8 global NGOs, World Health Organization Guidelines Committees, and many other international organizations. We have expertise in a wide range of disciplines including adult and pediatric medicine, data science, demography, epidemiology, health economics, health systems strengthening, and pharmaceutical policy. We focus on Infectious Diseases (HIV/AIDS, Respiratory Infections, Tuberculosis (TB) and emerging infectious diseases), Maternal and Child Health, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and more recently on Mental Health and the Impact of Climate Change on Global Health.
The GH department is looking for a qualified external instructor to teach GH881 GLOBAL REPRODUCTIVE AND PERINATAL HEALTH
This four-credit master of public health course addresses the major reproductive and perinatal health problems facing communities around the world. The course focuses on current strategies to address human reproduction, maternal health and the health of newborns. For each problem, the fundamental causes and possible solutions
- are considered-what works/doesn’t work and what is being tried. Topics include determinants of maternal mortality, perinatal mortality, respectful maternity care, gender-based violence, conditions that impact pregnancy outcomes, major causes of global maternal and newborn mortality, initiatives in global maternal and newborn health including research, programming, policy and advocacy. The course will be offered in spring 2025 (14 sessions). Each session is covered in three hours.
Effective Date: Spring 2025 semester, open until filled.

Requirements:
- At least five years of experience in public health;
- Master's or doctorate in public health or related field, or equivalent professional experience;
- College-level teaching experience preferred;
- Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
