**Retail Store Manager**

As Retail Store Manager for The Model Bakery, Walnut Creek, you are a key member of the retail store management team. In this role, you will be a critical leader in the store coaching, developing, and motivating the retail team to directly impact Model Bakery’s organizational goals. You will report directly to both the Director of Retail Operations and General Manager. You will manage a team of retail staff and baristas to deliver _work with the spirit of service, excellence, professionalism, kindness, compassion, and respect of others._

Qualifications and requirements:

- Available to work flexible hours, which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrates a passion for hospitality and taking care of people
- Must maintain current state issued SERVSafe Manager Certificate
- Able to work full time (the work regularly demands in excess of 45 hours per week) including variable hours such as early morning, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
- Ability to lead change, deal with the ambiguity, and the prioritizing needed to run a fast-paced environment
- Food Service: 2 years of food service experience.
- Years in Management: 1 years minimum in a hospitality setting.
- Aligns with company direction and communicates critical company strategies and changes to teams as needed
- Ensure execution of all visual merchandising standards
- Toast POS experience preferred, not required
- Interests: An enthusiasm for customer service/hospitality.
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, reach, crawl, push/pull, climb stairs, and stand without limitation for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or carry 50 lbs or more on a consistent basis.
- Frequently required to use hands.
- Proficient understanding of computer POS Systems, along with basic math skills.
- Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.Core duties/responsibilities
- Correct time cards and submit payroll in a timely manner
- Manage all scheduling for business operations needs and adjust as needed for Labor % of sales
- Refine and continually improve processes for waste management, and monitor waste for milk, coffee, food, goods, etc.
- Work on the floor to oversee the quality of service, product, and employee engagement.
- Oversee and coordinate all repairs and maintenance for bakery.
- Fulfill weekly bank deposit procedures and expectations.
- Complete Monthly Health Inspection Checklist and maintain food service manager health certificate.
- Coordinate quarterly coffee trainings with Caffe Vita
- Create any relevant checklists to ensure the proper maintenance and well-being of the cafe.
- Operates with a sense of urgency
- Create and publish FOH/BOH schedules
- Be a liaison of the FOH for all communication to BOH
- Maintain steady and organized flow of in store and online orders during peak hours
- Uphold bakery culture
- Ensuring customer satisfaction
- Oversee recruitment, interviewing & onboarding of new hires
- employee check-ins / reviews(30/60/90/yearly)
- General inventory management & ordering
- Participate in monthly management and retail meetings
- Communicates regularly with team, provides positive and constructive feedback, and holds quarterly staff meetings
- Models hospitality and is in service to the customer
- Know all products, including ingredients, quality consistency positioning, and signage with the ability to answer questions that might come up from staff or customers
- Managing effective workflow on the retail floor.
- Recognizes and rewards team members to strengthen engagement and cultivate teamwork
- Experience managing a profitable & operationally sound single café/restaurant preferred
- Taking daily inventory of baked goods
