**JOB SUMMARY**: To provide customer service regarding appointments, procedures and general questions. Answers phone calls; greets and directs clients. Schedules appointments, maintains program information. Performs general clerical duties, including typing.
**JOB DUTIES**:
*Greets and directs clients; clarifies program process and procedures. Answers calls and redirects/routes them, as appropriate.
- Schedules assessment / testing appointments and maintains related logs.
- Collects and inputs client information into a database.
- Performs general typing and filing duties.
- Refers callers/walk-ins to appropriate agencies or departments, based on stated needs or questions.
- Maintains an organized reception area
- Provides facility maintenance for a career resource center, as needed; includes directing clients to resources, assisting with computer systems, organizing materials and keeping supplies stocked.
- Other related duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- High school diploma or GED
- No previous experience required. Some previous public contact work desired.
- Oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills
- Detail orientation
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Recordkeeping and computer skills
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred; ability to work with diverse populations
**Licenses /certifications**:
None required
**DECISION MAKING / LATITUDE**:
Refer and redirect callers and visitors, based on knowledge of related agencies, State of Connecticut departments, and services.
**Indicate the level and the frequency of supervision received**:
Works under general supervision; supervisor on - site.
**SAFETY AND HEALTH RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Performs all essential job functions in a safe manner, and reports all accidents immediately to their supervisor.
**INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS**:
Internal: Daily contact with other Career Resources, Inc. staff
External: Clients and the general public.
