SUMMARY:
The Director of Retail will oversee the management of retail operations including managing all inventory, supervising and completing all visual merchandising, buying, and providing additional services to improve the Bluejack National Experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform, manage, supervise and assist in all duties that correlate with the retail operation.
- Ensure the daily retail transactions are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Oversee the planning and budget formulation of the golf operation on the retail side.
- Supervise all retail staff.
- Maintain pro shop inventory control system including, caps, balls, towels, gloves, and all other in-stock items.
- Oversee the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory control, and the promotion of sales in the Golf Shop.
- Partner with the Director of Golf in maintaining our purchasing and receiving procedures.
- Ensure that all opening and closing procedures for the Golf Shop are maintained.
- Maintain an open line of communication with the membership, seeking feedback regarding shop activities and merchandise.
- Control and manage golf shop inventory.
- Provide excellent customer service, professional advice, and assistance to all Members and Guests.
- Represent Bluejack National in a professional manner both on and off the property.
- Attention to detail that is consistent with Bluejack National standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Five (5) years of Golf/Retail experience in a leadership role is required.
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field of study to this profession is preferred.
- Willingness to work long hours, weekends and holidays as demanded by the golf business cycle/season.
- Excellent customer service.
- Strong communication skills to train and motivate employees.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills and motivational skills.
APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE AND HOURS:
- Full time. Weekdays, weekends, and Holidays. Schedule flexible as business dictates.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying
- This position requires an above average amount of physical labor such as bending, stooping, walking, reaching, and standing.
- Should be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
Bending/Kneeling
- This position requires an above average amount of physical labor such as bending, stooping, walking, reaching, sitting, and standing. This position requires this type of activity throughout the day.
