The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Psychiatrist to join our team at the Dublin, GA VA Medical Center. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in providing primary health service delivery to an outpatient veteran population.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive assessments of the physical, psychiatric, emotional, and social needs of individuals with diagnoses including (but not limited to): psychosis, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and organic mental illness.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapeutic services.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to effectively coordinate services and ensure high-quality patient care.
- Comply with national and local performance measures, including timely healthcare screening and completion of clinical reminders for all patients.
- Attend and participate in administrative and informational meetings held by the Mental Health Service Line Director and facility Director.
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
- Possess/maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
- Meet physical requirements for the position.
- Hold a degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Be board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
