General Engineering company specializing in grading, flatwork, underground wet utilities, erosion control, landscape and other sitework scope areas is looking for an Estimator who is seeking a long-term opportunity to showcase their abilities in estimating and project management.

Project focus areas include subdivisions, public works projects and a variety of other clientele in and around the greater SF Bay Area counties.

The Estimator will estimate and assist with managing a variety of projects. Looking for a self-starter who is motivated, organized and punctual, with the ability to work independently, be a team player, and understand the importance of working with others.

Seeking someone with experience communicating with people at all levels of the company and knowledge of all aspects of estimating and project management, including cost analysis, time management and quality control.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Assist to locate appropriate bid opportunities and maintain an organized bid schedule for in-house use.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, review plans and specifications and perform or assign take-off work.
- Develop and execute project specific bid strategy. Review all draft estimates with management prior to submission.
- Provide technical input throughout the proposal period and during the life of the project.
- Deliver accurate timely estimates.
- Solicit for material, equipment rental and subcontractor pricing, analyze quotes and maintain superior relationships with same.
- Coordinate in-house pre-construction meetings with project management team.
- Procure and delegate procurement of necessary materials for projects.
- Provide support to field crews during the execution of contract work.
- Compile and maintain all records for active projects including but not limited to submittals, RFIs, progress payments, serial letters, and active schedules.
- Monitor field quantities to track project cost.
- Visit jobsites to assist with project management to assess that work and materials are as per bid/contract. Determine alternative methods or materials when necessary and request change orders from client.
- Monitor project schedules, change orders and billing.
- Maintain superior relationships with clients in the areas of communication and value engineering to maintain a solid performance record resulting in repeat or referral business.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Construction Management or Civil Engineering or an equivalent of on-the-job experience.
- 8+ years experience in the construction industry with an emphasis on estimating and project management.
- History of successful project procurement in both public and private works.
- Strong plan comprehension and analysis skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Able to work effectively as part of a team, or independently.
- Experience using both manual take-off methods and electronic take-off tools or software.
- Experience with estimating software programs.
- Computer literate in Excel, Word, MS Outlook and any project scheduling software.
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Bilingual - Spanish preferred

Pay Type/Rate: Salary $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year depending on experience
