Medical Billing Specialist/office Manager

Ophthalmology retinal practice in the Texas Medical Center seeks an experienced, full-time medical billing specialist/office manager. Must have experience in medical billing/collection/appeals. Experience in Athena electronic practice management software is a desired qualification.
The administrative position in this small practice is ideal for an individual who enjoys a wide range of responsibilities and activities in a close-knit team and enjoys patient interaction. Responsibilities include verifying insurance information, obtaining authorization for treatment, submitting, following up, appealing medical claims, and collecting patient responsibility balances. The manager will also maintain an inventory of medications and assist with scheduling patients.
