**Duties**:
**This is an Excepted Service position. This appointment will not confer Competitive Service career-conditional or career tenure status. **As a full performance Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist, you will**:

- Serve as a primary line of communication with senior officials in Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (IN), elsewhere in Department of Energy (DOE), areas within the Intelligence Community, other Federal agencies, and in Congress.
- Coordinate responses from Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence's (IN's) directorates on special projects and studies, and organizes conferences and meetings for senior intelligence and policy officials on complex national security issues
- Advise and act on a broad range of management and organizational issues (i.e., prioritizing, researching, coordinating, tasking, and managing identified issues).
- Oversee the preparation and coordination for the substantive review of testimony proposed for presentation before Congressional committees and subcommittees (i.e., assessing the congruence of the statement with approved IN, DOE, and Administration policies).
- Manage and track DOE-IN interactions with the Office of the Inspector General (IG) to include IN involvement in audits, inspections, investigations, and the IG Hotline.
- Set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of teamwork.

- You are required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of entering the position and annually.
- This position has been designated as Special-Sensitive (High Risk) and requires a security clearance at the Q level. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain this clearance; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.
- In addition, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance prior to entrance on duty; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.
- The incumbent is required to complete an initial Counterintelligence (CI) evaluation and on a recurring basis, which may include a CI-scope polygraph examination.
- This position does not support 100% remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 2 days per pay period.
- Limited telework may be available based upon mission requirements of the position.
- This position is not included in a Bargaining Unit.
- First time supervisors will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
- New supervisors are required to complete 80 hours of supervisory training of which 40 hours must be completed during your first year as a supervisor.

**Qualifications**:

- Conducting intelligence briefings and providing executive support to senior government leaders.
- Providing support, guidance, or policy recommendations on program-related issues.
- Providing advice on a wide variety of management or organizational topics concerning intelligence.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
