We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting department. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for assisting with various accounting functions, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, general ledger entries, financial reporting, and analysis.

Schedule: Full Time (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Location: Cypress, CA (onsite)
Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
Employee Status: Non-Exempt

Status: Direct Hire or Temp to Hire

**What you’ll be doing**:
Accounts Receivable:

- Post customer payments by recording checks, ACH, wires, and credit card transactions.
- Process refunds and issue credits for returns.
- Process payment requests for expenses to be paid to customers.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Manage collections of overdue invoices.

Reporting & Analysis:

- Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as assigned by management.

Monthly Tasks:

- Reconcile and process monthly bank statements.
- Calculate broker’s commission.
- Calculate, reconcile, and adjust sales tax collections.
- Prepare accounts receivable accrual schedule.

Other Responsibilities:

- Process and record related inventory transactions (i.e., inventory adjustments & receipts).
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and provide support to auditors as needed.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Provide backup support for sales order processing when needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Pay: $26.49 - $28.85 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
