**About the Role**
The Assistant Director will build strong professional relationships with students, parents, high school counselors, and community based organizations to generate interest in the University. This individual will also work directly with colleagues within Enrollment & Student Administration as well as Boston University’s schools and colleges and the advising offices.
The Assistant Director primary duties include:
- Develop, plan, and implement recruitment activities that will ensure a strong applicant pool and an incoming class rich in ethnic, geographic, cultural, academic, and socioeconomic diversity.
- Thoroughly analyze and evaluate academic credentials to identify students most competitive for admissions
- Engage in committee deliberations to finalize admissions decisions.
- Counsel students, parents, and counselors regarding admissions decisions

Boston University Admissions is part of the Enrollment & Student Administration unit (ENSA). BU Admissions plays a critical role in ENSA’s mission by recruiting, selecting, and enrollment of new first-year and transfer students.
**Required Skills**:
- A cover letter is required for consideration._
- Has three to five years of directly related experience
- Strong public speaking skills
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
- Must work in the evenings and weekends for most of the calendar year
- Must be able to able to travel extensively for days or weeks at a time
