Payroll Manager

The Payroll Manager, founded in The Woodlands, TX, will manage overseeing the organization’s payroll functions (full life cycle) to ensure prompt and correct processing for multiple business units. The incumbent will plan, direct, and coordinate all payroll functions in the payroll department. This role will supervise direct reports.
- Ensures payroll procedures are compliant, efficient, and current.
- Accurate and prompt processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and keeps correct records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations.
- Leads and eases audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Develops, implements, keeps, and reviews payroll transactions to ensure prompt and correct processing.
- Finds and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
- Processes Certified Payroll Reports.
- Set up taxes for all states.
- Sets up job wages for all jobs.
- Supervise and coach the payroll team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred.
- 5+ years of in-depth payroll knowledge and experience in a similar role.
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience leading direct reports.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll processing including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Experience with payroll taxes, certified payroll reports, municipality reporting, and prevailing wages.
- Proficient with payroll management ADP software systems.
- Able to communicate with upper-level management and manage direct reports communication skills; Must be organized, efficient, detailed, and computer literate.
- Strong integrity and confidentiality.
- Solid financial acumen with strong accounting principles and practices.
- Drives change.
- Excellent organizational skills and diligence.
- Experience with prevailing wages.
- Strong analytical and methodical critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $51.00 per hour
