**Introduction**:
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH) is recruiting for a **Vital Records Information Systems (IS) Coordinator** within the Office of Health Informatics (OHI). DPH works with our local and tribal public health partners, and community groups statewide, on a wide variety of programs and services that protect the health of Wisconsin residents.

**Position Summary**:
As a Vital Records IS Coordinator, you will be part of the Preservation and Special Services Unit (PSSU) of the State Vital Records Office. In this position, you will preserve, amend, and provide access to vital records archives and you will be responsible for ensuring complete and accurate conversion of non-electronic vital records information into the Statewide Vital Records Information System (SVRIS), including an internal and external imaging project to electronically preserve and capture approximately 22 million vital records documents. PSSU receives over 100,000 requests annually, affecting all vital records, such as birth, death, marriage, and divorce. This position requires overall knowledge of the operations of the Section of Vital Records to search for records stored in microfiche, microfilm paper form, and various databases. You will provide and assistance to the public and other governmental agencies regarding requirements and procedures to obtain copies of and information from vital records.

**Salary Information**:
Pay for this position is between $26.00 and $30.00 per hour (approximately between $54,000 and $62,400 per year) depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

**Job Details**:
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

For positions that do allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.

Employees must have access to both a private workspace and secure high-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee’s headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

**Qualifications**:
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

- Experience working with a records management system (e.g., data entry, editing, quality assurance, etc.).
- Experience evaluating data for quality, accuracy, and conformance to established standards.
- Experience providing system end user support to individuals from diverse backgrounds including non-technical system users.

Well-qualified applicants will have one or more of the following:

- Experience working with vital records (e.g., birth, death, marriage records, etc.), including vital records business policies and state statutes.
- Experience developing written documentation and training materials.
