**General Responsibilities**: To provide daily care and supervision for residents of Alachua Academy. At Alachua Academy operated by Wayne Halfway House, we are committed to providing innovative, effective, evidence-based interventions with youth focusing on safety, security, treatment, education, and independent living skills. Alachua Academy is a privately operated 28 bed non-secure residential treatment facility for youth who have been committed to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
**Duties**:
1. Keep daily logs.
2. Participate in reporting and handling of crisis situations.
3. Establish a good rapport with the residents.
4. Teach/ supervise Independent Living Skills.
5. Encourage/ instruct residents in the practice of proper hygiene and health practices.
6. Supervise recreational activities.
7. Supervise mealtimes.
8. Demonstrate competence in cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity.
9. Follow all policies and procedures of the Wayne Halfway House.
10. Monitor residents for safe environment at the facility.
11. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by Security Supervisor.
**Education**:
- High school or equivalent (required)
- Valid drivers license (required)
**NO FELONY CONVICTIONS. Must pass a drug screen and background check and maintain eligibility for continued employment.**
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
