**PAWS Guest Service Representative**

**Job Objectives**

The objective of the Guest Relations is to be the primary point of contact for guests of PAWS, accepting payments/donations & managing our database records.

Below are the essential job functions and qualifications for this position.

**Compensation: $16.50-$18 per hour**

**Essential Job Functions**

**Guest Relations: 65%**
- Scheduling appointments for adoptions, department specific appointments (vet appointments, Vaccine clinic, etc)
- Represent PAWS with the incoming guests, volunteers and potential adopters
- Flag incoming inquiries to correct department (behavior, medical, Adoption/Foster, etc)
- Reunite lost animals with their owners by confirming ownership, collecting payment, and completing paperwork
- Check in stray animals brought in by the public and gather detailed information regarding the animal’s owner, found circumstance, and behavior
- Help create social media posts and photos of adoptable animals
- Reach out to rescue organizations, as determined to be appropriate, to seek transfers of animals
- Other duties: Receiving and distributing packages, greeting volunteers, answering questions, answer basic animal husbandry questions

**Record Keeping/ Database Management: 35%**
- Creating/updating new intakes in Pet Point, scanning and attaching paperwork to their digital file, adding notes, managing communications from internal departments
- Managing the Dog licensing tracking, keeping records, accepting payment, collecting proof of rabies
- Clerical tasks: Photocopying, scanning, filing, and maintaining records
- Managing Dog Licensing: Sending reminders, taking payments, keeping records and collecting proof of rabies vaccine

**Non-Essential Job Functions**
- May drive to pick up/drop off animals or supplies as needed

**Qualifications and Education**
- High School degree required. Some college experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience as Customer Service, Animal care experience with kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs is a plus. Experience with other animals (e.g., rabbits, guinea pigs) a plus.
- Ability to handle animals up to 70 lbs for transport
- Knowledge of basic cat and dog behaviors and ability to explain these behaviors in a clear manner to guests.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate well with the public and private organizations
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and contribute ideas
- Able to work independently while completing tasks
- Other skills required:

- Must interact positively with management, coworkers, volunteers, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
