- 1. Mentoring, Workflow & Supervision: Provides_ direct supervision for assigned practice managers, and administrative support to public Health professionals in their respective practice.
- Oversees the work of tribal employees and contractors, provides administrative and technical expertise as needed.
- Prioritizes and coordinates workflow for all clinical/public health operation requirements.
- Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and evaluating job results; management performance through coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, following the Community’s personnel policies. Seeks/receives input for the evaluation of work performed by employees who are outside the Practice Administrator’s realm of expertise.
- Identifies training needs and provides and/or arranges for needed training.
- Approves leave requests, provides advice, counsel or instructions to employees on both work and administrative matters.
- Evaluates and adjusts organizational, position and staffing levels to accomplish the basic mission of delivering prevention care.
- 2. Organizational Management and Operation_: Maintains and operates their assigned service lines in accordance with Community and departmental standards, guidelines, policies and procedures; as well as applicable licensing and accreditation standards..
- Develops, establishes and directs implementation and execution of overall policies and procedures for the administration and operation of the SRPMIC Public Health Program.
- Monitors and considers the effects of regulatory or other actions taken by outside entities on the health care delivery system and design ways to ensures health and wellness of the SRPMIC Community is not impacted. As needed, provides recommendations to leadership regarding concerns to the health and safety of the Community.
- Ensures ongoing quality control and performance activities for assigned programs.
- In conjunction with leadership, analyzes, identifies and reviews the unique health care needs of the patient population served and plans, develops and implements a public health care delivery system tailored to meet these needs utilizing a collaborative approach with executive management of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community
- Maintains staff retention by ensuring the recruiting, selecting, orienting and training of employees, maintaining a safe, secure and legal work environment, developing personal growth opportunities.
- Develops strong inter-departmental teamwork to drive decision-making and other actions..
- Collaborates in the preparation of annual budgets including reviewing of monthly financials for budget compliance and monitoring expenditures.
- Maintains supplies inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies; approving requisitions and cost allocations
- Participates in the development of business plans for the negotiation or re-negotiation of grants on an annual basis and refines and executes on the plan throughout the year.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to expand revenue sources and reduce expenses.
- Plans and initiates process improvement.
- Develops, recommends and implements changes to policies and procedures as necessary.
- Responsible for OSHA, the Community’s Tribal Emergency Response Commission and other regulatory training and compliance to ensure safety of working environment and Community.
- Works with appropriate Community staff to plan, evaluate, recommend and implement new initiatives when appropriate.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication. Adheres to established policies and procedures and standing orders.
- Coordinates programs, services and other activities to implement targeted health promotion and disease prevention activities.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
- 3. Administrative Oversight: Initiates_ program improvements and modifications for change that will meet and achieve the goals and objectives of providing quality public health care services.
- Maintains SRPMIC Public Health direction with objectives on standards of operations including monitoring productivity.
- Ensures optimum use of available financial, human and material resources.
- In collaboration with Practice Managers and leadership, identifies administrative best practices for the operation specifically responding to the public health needs of the Community.
