**THE POSITION**:
Do you possess problem solving skills and would like a career where you can put those skills to use by helping ensure Pennsylvania Veterans and their spouses are properly cared for? The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Delaware Valley Veterans' Home is searching for a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist. This position works with a team to ensure the facility is following state and federal regulations and assists in correcting issues that arise.

**DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:
Working as a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist involves consulting and collaborating with interdisciplinary clinical and non-clinical support staff in the monitoring and evaluations of the quality assurance and risk management program activities at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. You interpret internal and external regulations governing a long-term care facility and identify possible issues of non-compliance. These duties are achieved through monitoring patient care records, participating in facility surveys, and recommending corrective actions.

**Work Schedule and Additional Information**:

- Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week.
- Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:

- Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; **or**:

- Two years of clinical experience in an human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; **or**:

- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

**Legal Requirements**:

- A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
