**Events Coordinator**

**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the Corporate Giving Manager, the Events Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Development Department with a focus on signature events such as Compassion with Fashion and the Home in One Golf Tournament. Additionally, the Events Coordinator will be responsible for executing Third Party Events with community partners as well as supporting donor cultivation event logistics. The Events Coordinator will support all administrative needs including the management of auctions, raffles and volunteer committee needs.

**Essential Duties**:

- Signature Events: Compassion with Fashion / Home in One Golf Tournament
- Coordinate all aspects of registration including communicating with donors on questions and table/ticket purchases.
- Perform all administrative responsibilities of silent auction including entering all donor/gift data with precision. Ensuring donors are thanked in a timely manner.
- Under the guidance of Corporate Giving Manager, assume responsibility for portions of event logistics and execution including vendor coordination.
- Provide administrative support to planning committee, serving as a key relationship holder and resource for the community volunteers who support AHS events.
- Maintains a professional, can-do attitude and can manage unanticipated changes that have tight turnaround times by adjusting schedules for other projects and clearly communicating those changes to stakeholders and team members.
- Third Party Events:

- Manage and attend third party fundraising and/or adoption events hosted by members of the community benefitting the mission of AHS.
- Select and care for adoptable pets at select events, including safely transporting in personal vehicle.
- Seek out and attend additional third-party event opportunities to drive revenue, strengthen relationships, and achieve third party revenue goals. Cultivate relationships with donors and volunteers via tours, correspondence, phone calls and special events.

Individual Giving Team Donor Events: Provide logístical support to individual giving team on donor events as needed.- Administrative Duties:

- Maintain computer and written donor records.
- Follow up correspondence, ticket distribution, and receipt fulfillment for the event team and event committees.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Other Duties**:
**Education / Certifications / Licenses**:

- Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in event planning or non-profit development; **OR** experience in corporate relations or outside sales; **OR **any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Ability to cultivate relationships and provide an excellent experience every time to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
- Must be an innovative and creative team player who is self-motivated and is able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
- Must be able to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to articulate AHS mission, programs and services.
- Prior special event and silent auction management desired.

**Knowledge / Skills / Abilities**:
Language - Able to speak, read and write English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical - Able to process and record money.

Technical - Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary. Proficiency in Raiser's Edge fundraising database and GiveSmart software a plus.

**Other**:
Regular attendance, punctuality and access to reliable transportation are required. This position is primarily located at our South Mountain office but requires travel to other AHS locations as needed.

**Work Environment / Physical Demands**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

There may be occasional wet floors, animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated office environment.
