**SUMMARY**:The Housing Case Manager provides comprehensive individual services to the individuals / families living in Neighborhood Center of West Volusia (NHCWV) managed housing units, in collaboration with team members across the agency and community partners.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:include the following, as well as other work-related duties as assigned:
Responsible for performing daily work requirements as assigned by the Housing Director to achieve established objectives of the Housing Department and the agency.
- Complete and manage client leases and contracts with the agency.
- Collect rents, damage compensation, appropriate fees, and other client / governmental payments. Monitors respective accounts receivable and balances owed by assigned clients.
- Maintain client data, reports results, problem areas, and trends to the Housing Director.
- Maintain effective, professional client relationships. Provides support services, resources, and referrals as necessary. Maintain client confidentiality in all proceedings.
- Assure proper implementation of move-in, on-site periodic / ad-hoc inspections, move-out, and eviction proceedings, with supervisor approval.
- Submit documentation for changes (such as location, rent amounts, etc.) to the Housing Director for review and concurrence.
- Maintain schedule of client lease contact for home and office visits and an efficient / effective system for follow-up and contact with "no shows".
- Prepares detailed management reports to the Housing Director related to status and client progress.

Record keeping and communications
- Prepare leases and contracts for renewal and rent increase notifications in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update all client information in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), including case management notes and service plans.
- Ensures timely delivery of required documentation to the Grants Director for reporting including, but not limited to: Service Activity Logs (SALs), client files, financial documentation, and other relevant documents.
- Collaborate with Grants Director to ensure adherence to eligibility and program guidelines.

**Qualifications, Experience, and Abilities**:

- Education:

- Associate Degree (or above) in Social Work or related field or (2) years of experience working with the homeless population, preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience:

- Minimum two years’ experience in low-income property management, working with families or clients on an individual basis for teaching, counseling, and mentoring, preferred.
- Specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities:

- Sound decision-making with a solutions-oriented focus.
- Prompt and dependable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
- Time management and the ability to multitask.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and oral/written communication skills with the ability to cooperate on a team.
- Qualifications:

- Must pass Florida Department of Children and Family Services (DCF) Level II background check.
- Must pass initial and subsequent random / periodic drug screen.
- Must possess valid state driver’s license.
- No more than two moving violations and / or accidents within last three years. No more than three vehicle related suspensions / reinstatements.
- No DUI, reckless, or felony driving convictions within last five years.
