**This position will work in the Scottsdale, AZ National Headquarters 3 days a week and work from home 2 days a week.**

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provides support, training, mentoring, and development to reporting staff on an ongoing basis to ensure the department performs at a maximum performance level. Plans, schedules, and leads the staff to promote efficiency in completing their job responsibilities.
- Manages the daily functions of the general ledger, while adhering to GAPP and corporate accounting policies. Provides guidance for transaction processing in subsidiary ledgers. Leads the organization’s monthly and year-end closing process ensuring integrity and consistency amongst all lines of business.
- Manages the coordination of schedules, data, and materials as required for the annual external audit.
- Verifies accuracy and completeness of general ledger account reconciliations. Develops corrective actions and procedures.
- Performs monthly review of system-wide financial statements. Recommends and creates adjustments to accounts. Interprets financial results for management.
- Assists with organization’s ERP system updates and routinely recommends changes to existing processes.
- Develops and maintains internal control policies, guidelines and procedures ensuring conformity to GAAP and corporate policies.
- Strategically analyze and determine processes at increased risk for financial misstatement and establish procedures for monitoring to reduce risk.
- Remains abreast of changes and developments in the industry. Collaborates with other departments to improve service quality, process maximization and efficiency in all accounting areas.

**Knowledge/ Education**

Bachelor’s degree required.

MBA preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of current and evolving best practices and industry trends required.

**Licenses/ Certifications**

CPA certification preferred.

**Experience**

Seven years of related experience required. To include:

- Four years of leadership experience.
- Experience leading in a hybrid work environment preferred.

Previous experience working in a Shared Services environment preferred.

Understanding of payroll and benefits accounting preferred.

Experience working with multiple lines of business preferred.

**Skills/Abilities**

Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Ability to lead, develop and mentor a team in person and remotely. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Strong analytical, statistical, personal organization and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

Highly proficient in working with Excel and other financial tools and systems.
