**Administrative Assistant I - Parks and Recreation Dept.**

**The Town of Montville has an immediate opening for an experienced Administrative Assistant I in our Parks and Recreation Department. **In this highly responsible role, the Administrative Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our office operations and ensuring smooth, day-to-day activities. A wide variety of duties and responsibilities include but not limited to; managing and scheduling appointments, assists with proofreading documents for accuracy and clarity, preparing cash deposits, processing credit card payments, remit revenue reports, assist with processing internet registrations, providing information on all town recreational events and programs, distribution of program materials and publications, purchase orders, interfacing with public, contractors and department heads, and perform general administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, scanning, faxing and photocopying.**

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
**Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document preparation**

**Ability to speak, read and write in English.**

**Excellent verbal and written communication skills**

**Experience with phone systems and professional phone etiquette**

**Excellent time management skills**

**Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively**

**Experience in interfacing with the public**

**Able to work independently**

**Able to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment**

**Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and general math skills**

**Experience and Training**:
**Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in business and data processing plus five years of experience in secretarial and general office work; or an Associate's degree in business related field and two years related experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.**
